Miné: Promoting an Active Lifestyle in Tokyo
Samurai Sports would not happen without the men and women who keep fit and challenge themselves! In Snapshots, we ask a few questions to the men and women who excel and explore outside their comfort zones, in Japan and abroad.
How would you introduce yourself?
I'm know as Miné: energetic, happy, sweat-life living, lululemon employee and yoga teacher. I'm half Japanese and Turkish, grew up in Tokyo, and graduated from college in California. I recently made a job change from corporate real estate to help launch luluemon in Japan and live the healthy, sweaty life I love.
How do you pursue an active lifestyle?
My key practice is yoga and hiking/walking. Recently, I have begun to challenge myself and try new workouts - I've started bouldering, jiu-jitsu, boxing, and incorporating more HIIT, as well as the occasional Crossfit class. I love mixing it up and learning new skills and moving different muscles.
Tell us about a fitness or sports-related item/gear/equipment that you love.
I'm really loving the new lululemon Pace Perfect Bra with storage. It has a pocket to hold your cellphone in the back! At first, I was skeptical but after running a few times with it, I love that I don't have to carry my phone in my hands, and it doesn't bother me. Plus, the bra is supportive and provides enough coverage to work out on its own too. Efficiency!
Whether it’s in the studio, on the road, or at the pool, we know you’re working hard to log those training hours - and we want to learn more about you!
