About the Event

Head over to Kaisei Waterside Sports Park just 60 minutes from the heart of Tokyo and surround yourself in nature's splendor! With four courses to choose from, riders of varying levels will feel welcome at the Ashigara Long Ride.

Experienced cyclists will enjoy the longer distance and the added challenge of a climb reaching an altitude of more than 2,000 meters (6,562 feet). This year, the Ashigara Long Ride offers a 100KM course, along with the 120KM, 80KM, and 50KM courses. All courses feature spectacular views of Tanzawa Lake! Come for the ride, stay for the weekend!

Highlights
・Located just an hour from the heart of Tokyo, venture into the countryside and bask in the calm of rural Japan!
・Cycle amidst picturesque scenes specific to Japan, past mountains, rivers, and lakes reflecting nature’s abundance.
・Can’t pass up on a challenge? The 120KM course includes a formidable climb up and over Ashigara Pass – perfect for the serious cyclist seeking a long ride with elevation!

Course Descriptions
The course you select should be suitable according to your experience and fitness level.
120KM: A challenging 120KM course reaching an elevation of 2,300 meters (7,546 feet), if you’re looking to test your mettle, you’ve found your challenge! You’ll traverse the Ashigara Pass en route to the finish – it’s an advanced course with a punch. With the ultimate combination of hill climbs, rolling hills, and distance, there’s no doubt you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish!
100KM: All aboard for tough climbs and a metric century! Those looking for a little less crazy than the 120KM should sign up for the 100KM, which will take you to a total elevation gain of 1,690 meters (5,545 feet). You’ll go towards Ashigara Pass but take a shortened course that cuts to the north side of Lake Tanzawa.
80KM: With about 1,255 meters of climbing, the 80KM is a solid day out for the more casual cyclist! Pass through the Minami (south) Ashigara area and cruise on flat terrains towards Lake Tanzawa before a gentle downhill route in the second half of the course. Conquer two medium climbs and you’ll be finished in no time!
50KM: Beginners and families will appreciate the 50KM course! If you’re seeking a leisurely ride through the mountains, this is the course for a fun day of exploration on two wheels. If you’re looking forward to spending part of the day sightseeing (and don’t want the cycling to take all day), this shortened course is perfect.

IMPORTANT
・Participants may move about freely on the course as their pace dictates. However, participants should not be ahead of his/her group’s leading guide cyclist.
・This event is not for experienced cyclists seeking a fast and furious training day – no pelotons, drafting, or timing chip.
