Rina: College and Healthy Choices in Tokyo
Samurai Sports would not happen without the men and women who keep fit and challenge themselves! In Snapshots, we ask a few questions to the men and women who excel and explore outside their comfort zones, in Japan and abroad.
Rina
How would you introduce yourself?
I am your average 19 year old college student, born and raised in Japan. During my high school years, I studied abroad in England and Canada. I love to keep myself busy and during my free time, you'll usually find me running and playing the guitar.

How do you pursue an active lifestyle?
I don't have a go-to gym right now but I'll exercise at home and run outdoors to keep myself healthy. At home, I'll roll out my yoga mat for various exercises and sometimes, I join fitness events with my friends. I've found that achieving healthy, active lifestyle is easier when your friends have the same interests in pursuing balance. It's also important to nourish yourself well and I love discovering healthy places to eat!
Tell us about a fitness or sports-related item/gear/equipment that you love.
It has to be my yoga mat, because with that, I can work out anywhere. My yoga mat is comfortable enough to enjoy a short nap on, too 🙂
Whether it’s in the studio, on the road, or at the pool, we know you’re working hard to log those training hours - and we want to learn more about you!
