Leon: Taking Flight Around Japan
Samurai Sports would not happen without the men and women who keep fit and challenge themselves! In Snapshots, we ask a few questions to the men and women who excel and explore outside their comfort zones, in Japan and abroad.
How would you introduce yourself?
I'm a 37 year old Aussie guy who simply loves the outdoors. I've worked in Japan for a little over 2 years now and my motto is "work hard, play harder".
Tell us about a fitness or sports-related item/gear/equipment that you love.
Haha, my foam roller - and now you know how much I love pain! I swear and curse every time I use it but seriously, without it I'd be a broken man.
How do you pursue an active lifestyle?
Work as a pilot dictates I remain healthy; many people think of exercise as being purely physical but for me, the benefits also extend mentally. I used to run a lot - my favourite form being trail running; nowadays, my love seems to be more for pedal power. I genuinely enjoy pushing myself, finding new limits, and killing a few KOMs along the way. What better way to explore a country like Japan than on a bike at 30KPH?
Whether it’s in the studio, on the road, or at the pool, we know you’re working hard to log those training hours - and we want to learn more about you! Give us a holler at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be featured next - or better yet, email us with how you would answer the questions above.
