Samurai Sports would not happen without the men and women who keep fit and challenge themselves! In Snapshots, we ask a few questions to the men and women who excel and explore outside their comfort zones, in Japan and abroad.
How would you introduce yourself?
My name is Danai (pronounced da-nye) and I grew up in the middle of nowhere which is probably why I was motivated to get out of there and explore the world. I have been living abroad for nearly twenty years now.
How do you pursue an active lifestyle?
I was a competitive swimmer in college and after graduation, I started to feel like I was missing the competition. Eventually, a friend got me into triathlons a few years ago and ever since, I've been doing a lot of swim/bike/run. Triathlons give me a break from the work place, and are a great way to relieve stress and keep me sane! I try to do some sort of training every day. Even on the long days at the office, I try to squeeze something in to get a break. After a training break, I find that my mind is refreshed and my efficiency increases.
Tell us about a fitness or sports-related item/gear/equipment that you love.
My bike of course! I spent all my money on it; so I can't afford a car. Engines are overrated anyway.
Whether it’s in the studio, on the road, or at the pool, we know you’re working hard to log those training hours - and we want to learn more about you! Give us a holler at email@example.com if you would like to be featured next - or better yet, email us with how you would answer the questions above.
